Enameled plates

Picked these up this week with a bunch of caps and tunics.

Hi Marc - I used to have a large collection of these enamel signs. Very nice collection. The "Unser Gruss" one I still retain. It is in storage now, but is attached to it's original wood with the original nails.

On the back of the wood you can see the "shadow" of where it was mounting on another wooden post probably a train station or other public place. The signs were used when "Heil Hitler" instead of Guten Tag became the official greeting.

That led to what is known as the "German look" that one made before greeting another German in case there were witnesses.

The Ortsgruppe Ansbach is actually part of a two piece group. The NSDAP sign was above and generic and underneath was Ortsgruppe. I had the complete set and sold a year ago to a fellow WAF member.

Hi all,

I got this collection of plates together with the large collection of caps, buckles, uniforms and more stuff already posted on other sections of the forums.
Part of a trade for some of my Regimental standartes.
I'm travailing trough France for the next two weeks, visiting the boatyard where my new boat is build as well as visiting a few old friends collectors on the road.
When back in Belgium I will post all the pictures of this rater large collection you guys would like.
So have a little patience.

There is a new book out on Enamel Signs by Wihelm Saris, Phillippe Gillian and Mike Shaner.

Should be very helpful to us all since it also shows fakes.
