HI,
first of all I'm not expert with these armbands - but I'm a little skeptical with these ones with "Jm Dienste" in place of "Im Dienste.
These are offered from 7.- to 15.- € here in Europe.
See http://www.militaria321.com/auktions...82341262436134 for example
The good one is here: https://www.weitze.net/detail/71/Pol...i__108671.html
Also I've never seen that one with "Jd" on period photograph.
But as I told before, I¨m not an expert...

hmmmm - 7-15 euro vs. 165 for the other type -- bad sign?! a
ny other views please? you would think with a simple item like this this that fakers could get this detail right!
I hold out a slender hope there were variations, tho I note weitze's type is the one in german police Vol. II :------ /

I have two variations of material, but both have the block letters "Im...".Attached Files

Both of these came into our local shop from local purchase and included unissued Schuma insignia that was shown in another thread I believe. But the example on the left seems almost woven. You can discern the faint white outline to the letters. On the reverse, the letters are white thread. The material seems to stretch. Anyone seen another like it? As indicated by Weitze, these arm bands were authorized for use by civilian employees of local SIPO outposts, doing translation and other duties.Attached Files

I think Jiri spotted it right. I am now on my desktop PC and not on netbook and I can see the armband better and I think he's right. Mine too as Im and not Jm. The cloth on yours is thicker and stitching appears different from the original one I have (which by the way looks like the sample shown here and on Weitze's).

Another original of same type I believe.
Has anyone ever come arcoss a period photo of these being worn? I have looked for years and the closest was a photo of Schuma men in uniform wearing "Im Dienst der Schutzpolizei." I believe Dave (Dbmed) shared this image here a while back. I would love to see a photo with either uniformed or non-uniformed personnel.
From "German Police" vol. I, Bender Pub."
18-Aug. 1944: A brassard with the inscription " Im Service of the Security Police" (Im Dienst der Sicherheitspolizei) was instituted for Schuma auxiliaries emplayed on non-combatant administrative work. (Littlejohn "Foreign Legions of the TR" vol. 4, pg.13
28-Aug. 1944: Foreign auxiliares from the East employed by the SIPO as guards (Wachmaenner) for foreign prisoners were to be wear field gray uniforms without insignia, just an armband with the words "Im Dienst der Sicherheitspolizei" on the right upper sleeve. They were to be issued with a special identity documents (Ausweis). (SHAEF/MIRS Handbook "The German Police", pp. 124 & 129)Attached Files
