Newest Repro PO Eagle

While wandering about in the never ending quest for police NCO sleeve eagles I ran across this example.

From this view it looks pretty good. NEW looking but the pattern and execution are very convincing.

BUT lets flip it over and what do we find? Ah yes, the infamous "filled in" white body with thread hanging down from the body.

Those of you who have read my previous posts regarding the "Famous Reproducer" will immediately recognize this as an artifact of his production equipment as shown here.

Another example of the "famous Reproer's" work:

Obviously, at least as far as I am concerned, this German maker of the "best" reproduction police sleeve eagles has moved on to a different pattern in an attempt to keep in front of our efforts to identify his handiwork.

If you look at this new eagle here next to a known reproduction it is quite clear that they were made on the same machine. There are details on the obverse that are also characteristic of this maker, but I will refrain from telling him here that I know what they are.

Just a heads up for those of you buying eagles.

This guy is good and he comes out with a new "model" every couple of months.
Fortunately he seems stuck with using the same machine which gives him away......at least for now.

I suppose for now the white backing is a dead giveaway.
