Police Blades - Lets See them!

Just had these out the other day while doing some organizing and I thought I would take a few photos of my favorites to Share! Some I've had a for a long time and some are fairly new to me but I like them all and to me there are very symbolic parts of the police and their uniforms!

    Lets see what you have!

This one shows the actual color of the Saxon hilts a little better.

              Dave,

A great thread to start & some really beautiful pieces. I got rid of my Weimar short swords some years ago (did you buy some?) but pics like this make me regret it. I really dog that gilted Sachsen piece.

Here's one of my first Polizei blades, a near mint PSS by Gebruder Hartkopf. The frog & knot were additions as the bayonet came to me naked.

This one was also one of my earlier acquisitions, a short WKC gilt clamshell with stiletto blade. The bayonet has the 3R grip emblem with proper large aluminum rivets & although may look dainty in appearance, it's not when held. A very strong weapon & exceptionally well made. The brown service frog was original to the piece so I didn't have the heart to swap it out. The knot was added by me though.

Just an odd shot of a couple of later war pieces. The top one is a short private purchase Polizei bayonet with the "over the shoulder" Eickhorn mark. Sadly someone removed the grip emblem but the mark is rare enough IMO to warrant me picking it up. Also of note is it's scarce to find real stag on a piece this late IMO. Nice to know Eick was still putting out quality this late in the game.

The bottom piece is a short private purchase Polizei bayonet by Clemen & Jung with the late war "solid" grip emblem. The nice thing about this one is the steel scabbard, although it's obscured in this picture.

Here's a shot of the Eick's maker mark.

Billy, there you go showing off them premium pieces again! That P.S.S. and golden are awesome and it's always a pleasure to view them beauties! Of course I am missing both of those from my collection along with a reasonable uncut clamshell. Someday I hope to find these but I may have to be able to fondle them first before shelling out the scratch they demand!!!

Unfortunately, I wavered at buying your Baden that you sold several years ago. So, I kick myself now since I am still missing one of those!

                      Thanks for sharing!

                        Hey Dave,

Thanks for the kind words. Yes that PSS & gold clam are special, certainly to me. I sort of develop a love affair with some of my earlier acquisitions & these 2 were some of the first bayonets I bought. I was a newbie when I snagged both of those, fortunately I knew where both came from (both East coast vet buys) & could trust the sources.

You mentioned an uncut clamshell, I still don't have one of those although, like you I have a few nice cut down versions. The uncut ones are out there but the decent ones are quite costly & there's always been something in front of one on my wants list. Clamshells are just so nice to have in a collection IMO, usually they're screaming quality.

Billy, you were wise to snag those two early on as the prices are scary today and availability is about about nil for them! I had some chances, only passed thinking the price was too high, yeah right what was I thinking. Seems like I also had that problem with something in front on the want list.

Anyhow, a little added detail of the Leipzig markings on the nickel Saxon
