Congrats Dave. I've never had to opportunity to find a lion head example. I only have the plain hilt varieties.

Thanks for the comments! I knew you two would appreciate this Saxon! There is a collector I visited in CA last summer that has about 6-8 of these lion head examples with various property markings and in original form and cut down. What a sight to see all of them together! Oddly enough, another just appeared and sold on eBay after what seemed to be years w/o seeing one.
