Years ago (maybe 15 to 20...gale dinsmore had one very similar, and it had that zinc appearance, and anunusual numbered reverse. I believe this badge is original , but a different maker than the one he had long ago. I have regretted not having bought that one. I like it. I give it a IMO. Anybody disagree?
Did you already buy this one RonR ?

Have had it for almost thirty years.
Acquired it from a local friend who was constantly digging to make some extra cash.
Hope others will give their ideas.
Best regards,RonR

These are seldom seen....ive only seen one in the last 35 yrs,i thought was original, and the fakes ive seen are flat looking on not only the badge itself but the front details of the eagle etc. You may possibly be fortunate enough to have someone also post a orignal for comparison, but im telling you they arent found very often, and the one i saw was also that grey flat oxidized look just like this one. I hope someone does have one to show, as i love these badges, and hope to someday find another possibly cross my path.
If you bought this long ago and got it at a reasonable price id say most likely it is a good badge, and even if by some strange twist of the imagination it wasnt, (wich i am not suggesting it is not) you arent into it to where it is even an issue, in fact id say you might have to go buy your friend a case of beer pro bono if it is 100% original. I still like it.

I have a badge just like this one that my Dad brought home from WWII. I have never found anyone to authenticate it or the other items he brought back. I have had the badge in storage for over 35 years and used to take it to Show And Tell at school when I was a kid. My Dad was in the 89th Calvary Reconn Squadron attached to the 9th Armoured Division
