There is a strong possibility that the cap badge on the Beret is that for the 7th Battalion, The London Regiment. This would also fit as the man is in rather neet regalia. Possibly a seconded civilian opperative. The Town could well be Beilafeld. This was used as a center for British investigation. My Uncle was there in such a unit. I also have a photo of a German Police opperative, that work with the military police, latter to be found having an interesting history. Removed without trace. Also a Britis Military police unit, all wear the Feld politzie Gorget. This was taken about 1946 near Beilafeld.Comment

Style and size of this cap badge is very close to the ones for Braunschweig, Oldenburg, Hannover, Hildesheim or Lueneburg.......which were districts (and are cities) in Niedersachsen (founded 1946)Originally posted by g hanson View Post

Very interesting photos! Are all of the officers in the pics from the Kripo, or just the plain clothed fellows? It looks like most of the uniformed men have removed the cap springs in their visors, I guess uniform regulations were relaxed a bit. It is a wonder that any original Pol. uniforms are found with original TR insignia these days.

Another interesting thing about the uniform of the Police, I have a very extensive group to a Policeman, who held the APB in silver, captured by the Americans. On release in 1946 he was alowed to go home in his uniform, but it then had to be altered. If not he would if wearing it be in great trouble. This is outline in an offical letter he was given.Comment
