    Uniform Org Todt

    Salut,

Can you tell me if you have ever seen such uniform ?

Do you think it is a bona fide Org Todt Uniform ?

The jacket seems to be made of the correct shade of brown ?

    The inside has no markings

Does this arm band actually look authentic to you ?

    The breeches

Many thanks for your help ,

    yves

It looks promising... It possibly could be an OT uniform model M44 with the wrong buttons and stripped insignia. If that's the case it was probably post war used like that! Besides the brown wool, the golden color lining is typical for OT. Any stamps inside? OT clothing was usually stamped with Org Todt property stamps! If it had stamps all doubts would be removed!

Here's another one for comparison; HOWEVER this one has :
    (1) straight pocket flaps
    (2) wider waist band!
    (3) simple sleeve cuffs....
    unlike yours...
so that makes me wonder... perhaps an earlier version???

I'm not an expert in British uniforms, but blouse seems to me be more British battle dress (wartime simplification) than Feldbluse '44. '44 uniforms have some specific features - straight pocket flaps, 2 buttons waist, German-style sleeve closure... They had the SAME cut for all branches/services.
      And breeches?????
This set is a) not German or
      b) privately purchased or
      c) strongly modified for post -war (civilian) use
Of course, its only my opinion...

I agree that the coat has issues for it to be a standard M44...Perhaps its a cut down longer coat? I do not believe based on the Collar style and lining that its UK Battledress jacket modified...

          Salut,

Many thanks both of you for looking at it and your replies !!

Unfortunatly absolutly no markings at all

Lbsr, you do have a point and I know where you are coming from on the British BD side. It does looks like one, but even if the lining had been replace, which I dont think it is the case, the cloth is different, the number of buttons dont match the English BD has buit in should straps and the pockets size (longer) as well.

I am more concerned the jacket could be post war made with OT materials ??

Any ideas on the armband ?

          thanks,
          yves
