The sword is one of my favorites as it is a shooting prize for the Gemeindepolizei from 1935. We tend to think of the later standardized awards but the variety of early police sports awards is really interesting. A nice Eickhorn sword that pre-dated the standardized Polizei-degen.

The silver/bronze/enamel police motorcycle award is very neat showing both Hindenberg and the Minister of the Interior.

The Baden Police sports award seems to be a standardized table medal given for excellence in a variety of competitions. It is similar to the standardized Prussian table medals shown by Gerd and Joe.

The cased police dog award is really neat. It was given to the dog (Astor) and has his name and information engraved on the back. This guy was a drug dog.

Finally, the fencing award is for the police school competition. It is interesting to see this square bronze table medal. It seems the owner drilled a hole in the top so I suspect that he mounted it to something, or maybe he wore it around his neck until the novelty wore off.

George, the medal awards Gerd and I posted at the beginning of this thread were not Prussian medals. They were Ehrenpreis awards from the Reich Minister of the Interior for the various National Police Championships held every year. The medals were replaced by the Allach Ehrenpreis plates in 1937.

I love the inclusion of the ladies on the Hamburg fencing award. It's so PC.

Yes, I misspoke. I meant the nationalized awards you have shown and said Prussian instead of German.

The fencing award is awfully politically correct is it not? I suppose it was a stock award that the Hamburg Police utilized. At least the police dog award had the Polizei-Hund association logo on it.

George, I just realized that your fencing award was for a national competition as it was held at the Prussian sport school in Spandau (an assumption of course). The team from the Hamburg police sports school was the champion in the sword class competition of the fencing championships.
