I have a question about the feldgrau version of the Police buckle. Is the feldgrau the same shade as a typical army buckle or is it much more subtle? The examples posted on the first page of this thread seem lighter in color (on my monitor) than army feldgrau. I have a mint aluminum Police EM buckle with leather tab which has a painted on finish similar to the examples posted. The finish is so light in color that I've always assumed it was a manufacturer's variation or simply a protective coating. Could it be a feldgrau version?

Hello I would not consider the cast buckle late war. You don't see leather tabs after 1942. I think the buckle was produced outside of Germany. KirbyComment

My first Police Buckle
I just picked up my first Police Buckle. Found it at a local antique store and seems to be in very good condition. I really like the fine details and quality.
