and here the real thing (which I've shown before). Family collection liberated by my brother's father-in-law in Holland. Cuff title came loose... but original to this piece!

Officer rank! (SiP0 Hauptsturmfuhrer). Shoulderboards came original with this piece, never been removed in 65+ years!

                    Jiri and Nick,

Thank you for sharing these very interesting photographs.
The young Sipo man is already a member of the Gestapo judging from the piped SD raute.

Nick I love the greatcoat and Grenz-Polizei cuff band.

                    Thanks for sharing.

                    Marcus

This photo is the August 1940 Grenzpolizei graduating class at the polizei schule at Pretzsch / Elbe. The Wehrpass belonged to the man in the second row from front and fourth from the right. He carried this photo along with the one of him and his young child, in the pocket of his Wehrpass. When magnified, several Grenzpolizei cufftitles can be seen in wear. Most obvious one is on the first man standing on the right front of picture.

Now that's rare--a piped SD diamond worn by a buck-private. I don't think I have ever seen that before. Great pics.

10 year old thread but may I ask what "piped" means?

                            Regards, Matthias

The white trim cord around the Raute is often called piping.
