    Hitler Personal Items

I am meeting a guy tommorrow who is supposed to have a couple items his father brought back that were liberated from one of Hitlers residences. He has some type of small wooden box and a hand towel which he says both have Hitlers intials. He says he has his dads original memoirs which mention him picking these items up a day or so after the war was officially over. His dad was a member of Isenhours staff, yada..yada..yada. Anyway, we'll see. If this stuff is on the up and up I have no idea what it would be worth and what to offer him, but I also don't think he is expecting a lot either. Any tips?? I'll post pics if I get the stuff..oh yeah, he has several pistols he brought back as well. Alex

It's really impossible to give you a range of prices without seeing the items or at least images of them.

I took me a second to realize that "Isenhours" meant "Eisenhower's".....

As for the items.....Ya never know!

        Cheers,
        Bob.

          Yup.

We surely do need a grammar forum.

            .......

            Alex,

Looking forward to photos -- they will be of enormous assistance.

            Everyone,

Let's not pile on too much here. Alex is one of the good guys and a very serious and enthusiastic collector. What is far worse than an occasional misspelling are those who are not acquainted with the shift button on the keyboard, type in all small caps, with no punctuation at all. Sorry, Robin, but they seem to come mostly from the UK.

In the meantime, let's hope for some good images here -- always interesting.

Just a joke, in view of the other thread.

I'm looking forward to these images as well.

AND THOSE WHO ALWAYS WRITE IN CAPITALS, AS IF THEY ARE SHOUTING!

                      Lewis,
Just curious about your interest in machine gunner-musicians. Would they use empty shell casings for the fringe on their schwalbennester?
