I would like to say, that Keith saw Garys post before me. He contacted me and told me the post was here by Gary, and offered me a choice of refund on the Tunic, Adjustment or credit. I think that offer is a class act on Keiths part. Now may I have opinions on the eagle ? Thank you

Certainly is a nice looking Gemeinden tunic & visor set and both piped in a rather attractive & difficult to find color of wine red. In regard to the sleeve eagle, I would agree with Bill that better detailed pictures of are warranted here before rendering a decision. It's very unfortunate that it happens to fall in the category of a reproduced pattern. Are they any other telltale signs of being replaced such as a faded cloth form around the current eagle, old stitch lines, and is it sewn trough the lining or not? It also appears like white stitches, due they happen to react strongly under black light? Not saying that says much but just some random things to check.

Bill does make another rather interesting comment about "Every" GemPo tunics seen for sale having replaced sleeve eagles. And looking back at saved images from a number of examples I've seen over the years, I'd have to agree. It's either been none, suspect, or repro eagles observed. Strange, perhaps it's the "truth" branch tunic clearly reflecting that by and large sleeve insignia was removed and generally replaced, although the difficulty with restoration of GemPo is rarity. Well, my one and only GemPo tunic does appear to have 100% original sleeve insignia and that's why I have retained, especially since it was difficult to come by!

Anyhow, if you can, please post some better detailed photos for further comments!

Dave, I see no other out line or ghost eagle. No old stich lines. It is sewn through the liner. I can't tell on the thread because I just dropped and broke my black light. The thread is different than on the insignia. It has been replaced in my opinion. Just do not know if good eagle as this is the first gempo eagle I have handled. $%#&%# light.

Pete, I am glad to see these items "reunited" and in a good home. I hemmed and hawed over both of them for some time. Great ensemble!....
