    Zoll Tunic!

This is a neat tunic I'd like to share. Made like an SS tunic with the angle slash lower pockets and rear seam detail, this has internal load bearing straps that connect to the side hooks, plus the rear buttons (again SS style). Piped as you'd expect, with some very nice embroidered collar tabs. Boards are sewn in, which I think is a little unusual for these type tunics. Anyway - I think this is an untouched specimen for review!

Very nice collar tabs, I feel - some very good embroidery work. Still has the starched collar insert!

Had both a ribbon bar and two breast badges, plus a nice originally sewn KvK II ribbon.

Nicely sewn boards, Zollbeamten second group rank?

Unusual interior set up: sewn straps connecting to the load bearing hooks, typical dagger slit but not buckle. With the quality of the heavier field wool and subdued buttons, looks like it was set up for field use.

Hello Robert I like the Zoll Tunics. I posted my tunic in the thread http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...highlight=ZOLL I think pre war tunics had sew in style straps and war time tunics have the attachment straps. Kirby

Thanks Nick! Kirby, I'm not sure on the pre-war vs post-1939 on the sewn type boards, but it makes sense. Nice set up you have there as well, by the way. Regards, Robert

Robert..I have one Zoll tunic, and it is probably the best quality cloth of all my collection. Unfortunately it is missing the cyphers but I will pick up a pair soon!
I particularly like the piping down the front and on the French cuffs.

BTW...I am in Laramie at UW unti mid-December so if you are passing this way please let me know!

                        Hi Wessel,

Nick pointed out in an earlier post that the Zoll was absorbed into the SS after July 1944 and an order came out to remove the RFV cyphers so your tunic might reflect that order.

Food for thought. If you decide you need the cyphers and can't locate them let me know. Seems like I see them fairly often and if you like I'll pick up a pair for you. For that tunic you'd need the gold ones. Nice pieces Wessel and Robert E!

                        Cheers, Bill Huber
