    WW2 German Bring Backs (pics)

I have been a member and lurked here for a while to try to gain info on some things I have that were given to me by my dad and uncle.....both WW2 vets.

Below is a link to an album of those things my dad and uncle brought back from europe after the war.

The MP40 is registered......it was my 1st machine gun transferred to me by my dad approx 20 years ago. The rest was given to me in recent years and I have just have gotten around to uploading the pics.

There are 3 rifles.....byf 41 L, dot44 and a kkw .22 trainer. Also included is a Luger, SS Dagger, Hitler Youth knife, police hat, helmet and some medals, badges, ribbons and cloth stuff.

I put this album up on another board to get an idea of what these things were worth, save the MP40 which I'm very familiar with. I was pleasantly surprised by the estimates.............Anyway, I thought this group may enjoy seeing this collection of bring backs as a lot of these things are apparently police related.

I find the album best viewed by clicking on the "slideshow" option in the upper right option block...........

Welcome to the forum, I've very glad you decided to post!! A very, very nice group of items! I've not looked at all pictures closely although for sure there is a number of police items!

626a/627 - Tschako for Gendarmerie with a seldom found black plume
    635 - Tschako insignia plate
698 - Tschako cockades, both other ranks and officer grade (the aluminum example would go well of 626a/627)

632 - Minty looking beaded Luftschutz helmet

643 - Two headgear insignia > Curious, is there marking on the reverse, maybe JFS?

691 - Fantastic looking tabbed buckle by JFS

689 - Mot. Gend. cuff band

638 - Portepees, large silver example for the sword (I could use that one!!!)

639 - Mixed lot of police rank straps, Gendarmerie, Schupo, and another branch in the strap but I'm unable to clearly determine color

701 - Maybe Gend Officer collar tabs but I'm not sure if the color is orange or red
Interested in the Gendarmerie - Schutzpolizei - Gemeinden - Feuerschutzpolizei - Wasserschutzpolizei - Etc. Looking For Anything Polizei Related!

Thank you for sharing those interesting pictures.

Would you mind a request for a picture of the front and back of the police cap eagles as shown picture 643? They look exceedingly nice.

I assume you mean the 2 eagle badges......yes, on the back is "JFS" contained in a square.

Nice items! Item 0685 is of course not German, its Japanese, either veterans pin or Imperial Navy related. Thanks for sharing your treasures!

Thanks for confirming my suspicion......I didn't think it was was German. Both my dad and uncle were sent to the Phillipines after V-E for the pending invasion of Japan.

My dad's division had the distinction of being the last to disembark for Europe and the 1st to be pulled out. His training to that point was amphibious assault on the california coast with the intent his division would be deployed to the pacific.....until the Battle of the Bulge. At that point his division was re-directed to Europe.

I'm not sure if my uncle or my dad picked up the jap badge......I know my uncle brought back a jap sword, so he may have been the one to bring the jap badge back.

                  Thanks again.
