Note the party banners in the background of an otherwise traditional design. Probably added at the last minute before printing. I would not be surprised if this design existed with normal "fest" banners where the party banners are on this card.:
    This postcard was marketed in the O'fest pragram I am speaking of.

      Great Historical Information! NAZI Oktoberfest

      Thanks Bill for this unusual & stimulating Thread.

      Just out of Curiosity - "What" is the Munich Maid / Kindl holding in her left hand?

      (It faintly looks like a 'money bag / pouch' from the OLD Days... Txs, Dave/dblmed

            Nope, a (white) radish, typical food here in bavaria. "Rettich" in german, "Radi" in bavarian. Cut in slices of app. 1cm thick, eaten with fresh bread and butter and salt - delicious!

                      And lastly a postcard of a gentleman eating the aforementioned radishes. Also of interest is that the beer mug on the table is the 1935 commemorative pictured earlier in this thread;

                        A great thread Bill, thanks for sharing.

                        That last foto is wonderful with the older Bavarian fellow, so typically German.

                            As a side note the Bavarian folks I have known do not like being refered to as German . They would rather be called "Bayrish". I probably I spelled that wrong.
                            Wonderful People. I really like the Tryolian mountain folk.. Very nice people.

                              Indeed BryanD is correct the Bayerische don't like to be called Germans. And the last photo is really NOT typically German but typical OberBayern or Alpine Bavarian. Very unique culture and trachten (traditional costume). Even though my family hails from a bit farther North I do my best, even here in Japan, here at the Yokohama Oktoberfest.........not quite the same!:

                                Oh yes, I have been reminded several times too by my cousin that our family is Nord Frisian, not Northern German. The Bayerische don't like to be grouped in with those
                                Prussian high brows either. It's a wonder that Munchen and Berlin were able to co-exsist
                                in the same country. ; )

                                I LOVE that photo Bill!
