David H., Could you give more details of how you cleaned this tunic in the tub??? I also have a Polizei tunic that is dirty,and i may have to do the same! Did you look into having it dry cleaned before you soaked it? Kevin.

I was unable to find a dry cleaner locally other than the basic high street ones, which I wouldn't use for something like this..That is why I resulted to dunking it. I'm not sure if the amount of crud that came out would have come out with only dry cleaning anyway, if I find a decent dry cleaner I'd probably let them have ago aswell.... The washing option isn't for the faint hearted and I would not have done it if the tunic had not have been so bad.

I used a small amount of woolite in warm water and let the tunic soak for a few hours, I allowed the insignia to get wet but didn'y let it soak under the water. I gently rubbed the worst stains, otherwised just sloshed the whole tunic around a bit, you can see the amount of dirt that came out...... then rinsed it out with a shower head and hand squeezed as much water out as possible, placed on a good hangar and dried naturally in a warm enviroment, I think I did it outside but not on a really sunny day...

Really nice admin tunic. Took some serious balls to soak the thing. I can imagine your nerves as you put her in the water. Glad it worked out for you and it looks great the way it is.

Is it me, or are there others who think that Verwaltungspolizei had the most aesthetically pleasing Uniforms over the other Orpo branches? Whodathunk that the uniform of a literal pencil-pusher would be one of the most desired of all the Police branches....
