Gerd, absolutely fantastic photo collection you have! I find it amazing to look at those early photos with all the quality of detail. It's like a picture reference into history and an excellent study of those lesser seen uniforms & accessories!!! Although all the variations are confusing, perhaps I now see the reasons for later standardization! Many thanks for posting.

Guess I better step-up and find something to add. I'll introduce some brass below, one of my very few General photos.
