    Unknown Polizei Visor on Ebay

This is for sale on ebay right now--it is also pictured in the Angolia Police book, page 483. It is unidentified both on ebay and in the book. It is a TR-era cap. Any of you Polizei Experten have any ideas?:

Interior--Rupp was a legit wartime maker. I would guess some LaPo visor--but for which state?:

The logo on this one is impressed into the sweatshield--a known variant:

I just saw this on eBay and here it is! Interesting how both this example and the one in the Angolia/Taylor reference have the 1936 in a box stamp and I thought I've seen another one like this before that was described as Prussian, although I'm not sure on that.
Interested in the Gendarmerie - Schutzpolizei - Gemeinden - Feuerschutzpolizei - Wasserschutzpolizei - Etc. Looking For Anything Polizei Related!

            Hello,

That green is exactly Prussian Justce/Finance/Customs green. If the band were black I would say pre-war court baliff which had carmine piping. Gray, who knows what small organization might have used this. Landespolizei, maybe, but what state may never be known. Don't forget early city officers too. They wore all sorts of uniforms. This one will probably stay "unknown".

When I see this type of cap with police insignia I often wonder if it is original to the cap.

            Regards,
            Bill Unland

              Nice cap guys!

This is the transitional peaked cap for the Prussian Landjägerei. The 1936 date indicates that it should properly have the 1936 enlisted police eagle on the blue band. The green is Prussian dunkelgrün as Bill points out and the kornblumenblau band matches the blue collar tabs on the Landjägerei NCO uniform. The chin strap buttons should be plain (not pebbled) gold color but the eagle should be the standard flat white metal. The flat cockade is correct. This cap was worn from the 1920s until the adoption of the new Gendarmerie uniform after 1936.

IMHO RFV 1934-1937 - zollgrün, red Paspelierung & black rand (photographed with flash). Reichskokarde would be on rand, in place of flat Kokarde would be NSDAP-Hoheitsabzeichen...

                SCHUPO,
Rupp Fabrik was in Karlsruhe, which is in Baden-Würtennberg, not in Preußen.
IMHO Landjägerei wore orange Wafenfarbe and this facing looks more "hochrot".

                  Hi Jiri,

According to Löhken this cap is Prussian Landjägerei per the März 1928 (and earlier) regulations. He states on page 33 of "Die Polizei Uniformen in Preussen" that "Die Mütze erhält einen kornblumenblauen Besatzstreifen, die grünmelierte Grundfarbe bleibt bestehen. Die Kragen and den Rockblusen werden für alle Dienstgrade aus dunkelgrünem Besatztuch mit roten Vorstössen gefertigt." So, the "Waffenfarbe" piping is not orange until after the Landjägerei returned to its original name of Gendarmerie after 1936.

I have a dark green Zollschutz double breasted tunic with red piping and black collar tabs as you describe in the regulations. I also have a 1934 dated Landjägerei single breasted tunic in a similar dark green (slightly lighter in color than the Zollgrün) color with red piping. The Landjägerei tunic has blue collar tabs piped in gold wire, however, to match the cap under discussion with a blue band. This dark green cap with a blue band and red piping is Landjägerei, IMHO.

Yes, it seems to have gone to a German buyer.

I have one of these caps but it is not dated. Mine has the 1936 eagle and no maker info on the sweat shield but is appreciably the same Telelerform cap. The green and blue exactly match the colors on the Landjägerei tunic in my collection. I have seen several of these over the years but they are few and far between.

Yes it is a nice cap but still very expensive imo. I guess I stuck in the " old days " for prices.....

To post questions on active auctions is always somekind of two-edged-sword....
I´m sure nobody here want that, but it could end as an "online promotion" with always a chance for high prices. In some of the cases I saw bidders just bidding for fun on such items

Dono who the visor got at the end, but the winner bought a textbook late Prussian Landjäger one.

This hat is on the estand right now. Is it Lapo, or Feuerwehr?:
