    German Horsemans' badge

    hi,

i just wanted to get this badge checked over, its ment to be a bronze German Horsemans' badge with a broken pin,

but i think the detail is lacking a little, is this a repo?

I really do not know the answer. This is the only one I ever had, acquired around 50 years ago or so. My guess is that others would have made them also.

          Hello guys!

There were two makers of this badge (as far as I know):

          • L. Chr. Lauer Nürnberg-Berlin
          • Steinhauer & Lück, Lüdenscheid

With “R” for “Reiter” pre-45 and without R post-45 (as far as I know). Both badges pictured looks 100% original

From my experience with the Horserider badges, the "muted" detail is normal. And I have only ever come across the 2 makers mentioned in an earlier reply. I have never seen an unmarked example.

If you would like the pin repaired, Jimmy Brashaw can do a nice job for a very reasonable price. jimmybrashaw@blueyonder.co.uk
