Here's a stripped Forestry uniform for evaluation. Asking price is 180Euro. Is it a period piece? (pre 1945) and a fair asking price? Thanks

Hello,

That's an attractive coat and the price seems reasonable. Whether or not it is period is open to debate. I believe piped tunics are still used by various hunting and forestry associations, and were certainly used just post war. The buttons do not look period to me, that said; I would defer to the forestry experts amongst us, but looks nice to me none the less.

Thanks for your input Bill. I actually like the buttons, text book for period pieces but I'm sure also used early post war...who knows...this forestry-hunting stuff is tricky... A nice dated tailor tag would help... I'll wait for other opions before I make my move on it... (For sale in Austria). Nick
