    In Todays mail this tunic

This came today in the mail. Unfortunately the arm eagle has been removed. The boards are gone, and I have these just sitting on the tunic. I need to sew in the buttons. Thanks to Gary 9 for his input on this tunic.

    Hello,

Very nice, my favorite branch, and rank.....be careful you don't catch the "orange virus". I think Dave Cameron was patient "Zero" and it is spreading throughout the forum!

If you need a sleeve eagle I can probably find an extra.

    Best regards,
    Bill Unland

This is the type eagle I need. You can see the style is the type where the wings do not protrude from patch. Thanks, Pete

I finished up my Schutzpolizei Hauptmann tunic with the acquisition of the Officer Service Cap. Here is "Hermann" (David Webster displays) dressed to the hilt with the tunic, cap, medal bar, SS officer brocade belt and police officer aluminum buckle, brocade cross strap with black leather cartouche, and two badges.

          Dear Peter,

Yes, you need an "oval form" eagle, either named or un-named to fit where the original eagle was cut off. A "cut out" eagle won't do.

          Dear Bob,

Now you need the officer's Tschako with white plume, which would have been worn in full dress.

          Regards,
          Bill Unland

              Dear Bob,

No, in this case the officer's "degen" sword These are NEVER finished.

Here is a photo of the type of Tschako you need.

                Hi Peter,

Looks like you found one the of seldom seen Gendarmerie tunics with dark brown cuffs and collar! By chance, is it dated on the inside?

For comparison, my example (unfortunately no pictures at the moment) is dated 1942, has removable shoulder straps, and functional cuffs. The sleeve eagle on mine was "form" cut so there was no name. My example also has a third offset button on the right sleeve...I've not figured this one out yet??
Interested in the Gendarmerie - Schutzpolizei - Gemeinden - Feuerschutzpolizei - Wasserschutzpolizei - Etc. Looking For Anything Polizei Related!

Dave, No dates or stamps inside. Detachable shoulder straps and working cuffs. Just 2 buttons on cuffs,.

                    Dear Peter,

Confirm that the cuffs are functional, ie; you can unbutton them???

If so VERY rare indeed! I think Dave has the only other one known to man.

                    Regards,

Yes they do unbutton. I was surprised at this as my other one has the dummy cuffs.

                        Dear Peter,

Please post photos when you get a chance. During a discussion on the other forum these working cuffs were considered to be on mountain Gendarmerie coats.

You have a VERY rare tunic indeed, good catch !!!!! I am jealous

                        Regards,
