    Early cloth eagle!?

I was looking to get some information on this cloth eagle.

My understanding is that this eagle style and color is of early origin (prior to the green one).

    I have two questions.
First, is this a specific police branch or is it a more universal type eagle, like the green one?

Secondly, I'm assuming this cloth eagle was designed for a sports shirt?

    Thanks,
    Tony

      Tony,
This eagle was introduced in 1935 for the sport shirt. The eagle is the first pattern police eagle.
In green for Landespolizei and in blue for all other branches.
In 1936 the second pattern police eagle was introduced in woven form for the sportshirt. That one allways was in green.

What are the measurements of the wreath?

        Hi Ernst,

The whole cloth piece is about 4 inches by 4 inches.

Thanks for the information on the eagle

Wasn't the sports shirt eagle supposed to be a size of 14 cm x 17 cm? Also, the smaller sizes are suspect as they are being reproduced. You might want to test the reactivness of the white with a black light.
