Police strap/board

Not one for collecting police stuff but these came in an insignia lot that arrived today.

What ranks are they? Does the colour change for the different police bodies that existd around the reich?

Jonathan,

These both appear to be postwar police for the Bundesgrenzschutz or a Land Polizei. They do not appear to be wartime from the photo.

Based on the photos submitted, the shoulder ranks appear to be BGS (Federal Border Patrol). This style was worn from inception back in 1951 through 2001 when they switched to the title Bundespolizei and adopted the (at that time) regular state police green shoulder rank.

The ranks would be Meister im BGS (plain / designed to be sewn into the shoulder) and Obermeister im BGS (1 pip / designed to be slipped through a loop at the shoulder).

As for the last rank shown, this I believe is WWII Schutzpolizei Wachtmeister rank based on the photo, although it appears that there was a pip that had been removed. Does it have a chocolate brown center ?
