My new SA Wehrabzeichen in Gold!

Hello boy's,
I've just recieved this SA Wehrabzeichen in Gold I wanted to show. I haven't cleaned the back yet, but even now it shines like a star! I'm alway's very carefull when it comes to SA badges, so I before I put it in my collection, I would like you're opinions.

Nice Badge. Looks ok.

This badge is a definate original, but I question the grade. With a serial number in this position and this high, it appears to be a bronze grade with altered finish.

I've exament the badge very carefully and there is no trace of any bronce finish. I've seen a lot of refinished sa badges, but alway's you can find some traces of bronce in the little cavaties or at the hook and hinge. With this badge there are no traces, not even within the numbers. Furthermore there is a finish to be found on the badge that is gold, so this isn't a extremely polished to the bare metal badge. The detailing is also to sharp to be that.
The serialnumber is indeed high, but if that is the only thing to say it's bronce, I dont find it a strong argument. Nobody knows how much SA badges where produced in what grade.

I feel strongly that this badge is real.

Its often very difficult to tell the difference between gold and bronze by an unworn piece with good pics, a well worn piece and much to much light…..<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>
But I think Ron is right the award number is much to high, I think I have read the gold grade got awarded around 150.000 times….<o></o>
