The metal tabs on the revers were to attach either to the jacket (lower one) or to attach the missing chain (at the top) around the wearers neck. Does it still glow in the dark after being in the light?

Being this piece is military police and little responce, you might want to also post this over at the Wehrmacht Uniforms forum. Just might be some more interested FeldGend. gorget collectors over there.

Your gorget is 100% percent period and legit. but not in the best condition and missing the chain. What else do you expect anyone to tell you? The value quoted above is IMO optimistic for it's condition.

IMO this one is a bad one but we will need some better pictures to be 100% sure. But the eagle looks wrong and also the backing and prongs looks suspicious!

If it was me I would pass on this one judging from the photos.

I agree with Lassi, I don't like the back (colour of tabs ). Here you have an original one to compare. It's just an opinion.

Actually I have my doubts about the one from weitze too but I´m not an expert but IMO the backing on the Weitze gorget is also wrong.

Here is a picture of 3 Gorgets I have owned unfortunately I only have the one top left now

The one I have has the same backing and tab configuration as the one shown above upper right. To the owner of the one in question: Is the one you posted magnetic? Lassi I share your doubts about the Weitzie example. It's too bad Joe Pankowski doesn't participate here.

Apart of if Weitze example is good or not, I see that all examples has the tabs made of the same metal than the chain (aluminium?) and the one of the thread the metal is different or perhaps the light for the photo is incorrect. Better photos and closer of the tabs can help.
