MG Police / Polizei Armband (Post WWII)

Hello Everyone

OK, yes I know this is post WWII, but it is very early post war. So I hope you'll indulge me.

Need some help on this one. It is a Military Government Police (Polizei) Arm Band, but I am not sure the area it would have been worn in. First thoughts are British Sector (North Western Germany). Simple construction of approx. 3.5" x 17" tan material with black stenciled lettering. UV Dead.

Thoughts and opinions greatly appreciated.

Definitively not from Berlin. The Berlin police used this kind of arm bands just for a short time of the only Russian occupation of Berlin.
With police in German and below of it in Russian.

My mistake, meant to write North Western (Schleswig, Hamburg, Bremen, Niedersachsen, NRW). Although, I suppose it could have also been worn in the British controled section of Berlin or even in Steiermark & Kärnten in Austria.

Andrew, Below is another realted example. I'll have to pull the documents and take a closer look. Does yours only have the one "MG" or does it also have "MR" on the otherside?

It only has MG. I am familiar with the MG / MR version. I'm curious, what area is the document from that shows the officer wearing the armband?

After doing some research last night, it is quite possible that this could have been worn in either the American or British sectors. It might also have been a locally produced item.
