    Wien Tunic

I've been offered this tunic by the grandfather of an ebay seller. For certain, there is a lot of add-on stuff to tunic and visor that doesn't belong, but it should be easily removed as all appear to be pinned on. Could of been just a matter of keeping stuff together.
When I look at the collar, and how the tabs are sewn, should they be somewhat at an angle to the bottom collar edge. Some tunics they are, some not. I could not find much reference to the Wien eagle, so I could only base it upon the others. The set also comes with pants, boots, and a sword(not police). An opinions appreciated.

Hi Jeff, do you know if there's a PO stamp inside? My Wien Gendarmarie tunic had a Wien PO stamp inide as well. That would coroborate the tunic's sleeve eagle...

Here's an example of what the stamp might look like...

I had a Wien tunic that just had generic PO 1938 markings. Would be nice if it is Wien maker marked. Hard to tell if the eagle was replaced from the photos but it doesn't look bad. Looks like a nice set and with a bit of TCL it would look great. I would love to add it to the collection!

                    Hello,

Everything looks good to me, after you take off the extraneous pins. Eagle looks good, tabs are OK. Looks like someone just tried to jazz it up with some pins that don't belong. Common in the post war souvenier collecting days.

                    Regards,
                    Bill Unland

Thanks for the quick replies. I had asked to markings inside the tunic, but haven't recieved any yet. He's been very prompt in answering my questions, so I will be able to follow up with that question soon. I'll post the photos when they become available.

                      Thanks again

                        Ji Jeff,

the family name of that guy was PACHMAYR.

If you try google with Pachmyr and Wien you will find a lot of material on that family name.

                          Gerdan,

You have very good eyes. I could not even pic that out of the photo, but you are correct in the name. I will see what I can find on this person.

Here we see that type eagle again with the town name of Wien, makes me think that this type eagle was made in that town

Finally after floating around in parcel post for the last 13 days , the tunic, visor, sword, boots, breeches, and a couple of medals/ insignia arrived. The sword is an army officers sword, so it of course will go somewhere else. I did find a paper tag in the tunic pocket that reads. (does not match the visor)

Looking at the map, Trumau is located South of Wien. Needless to say, I was very happy with that. I will post some photos later in the week.
