I have the same pattern Luftschutzpolizei eagle. Mine appears to be on a different backing but the pattern appears to be identical. Although these seem to have appeared on the market rather recently, they look good, and I have no particular reason to believe that they are reproductions.
I'm afraid, as with many of these, that's about as definitive as I can be.
I must add though that seeing it on a scrap of cloth is NOT a good sign in my opinion. Recently many repros are being sewn down to a scrap of cloth to "authenticate" them. Not saying that is the case here, but I'm not particularly happy to see that.
Thats what I was afraid of. Sewing them on cloth also to hide the backs and
adds to price. I dont like the way the cloth is folded under the sewed left edge.
Have you also gotten a PM from a new guy from Pakistan? He has all types of patches to sell.
Thank you Mr Unland. Terry

Reason: misspelled word
OH YES, I have received a few PM's and e-mails from the embroidery company.
I couldn't figure out that fold either. If the eagle was sewn to a sleeve, there should be no seam or fold in that position. Makes me want to re-evaluate this pattern all together now.
He sent me a closer look at the area we were talking about. Says that its a tear
or cut in the cloth and not a fold. Looks like it could be ok to me now, how about you.
Terry
Since it is a tear I would fall back on my original post and say that I have no reason at this time to suspect that this is not a legitimate eagle. I have considered this pattern to be good.
