Well, it definitely is NOT police. Police used a brown or black collar and cuffs not dark green. It does look like foresty, but that is way out of my expertise.

hi i am not a expert in Forestry tunic`s however it dose look just like this one

i have only been collecting police items for about a year or so and again i am no expert, but this tunic is not a m36 police issue tunic,forestry tunics have 4 buttons
police had 8 at first then 6(m43 regs, i could be wrong again)

The tunic could also be postwar as the full lining is typical postwar shiny material. The BGS, Forestry, and Zoll all wore the green collar at different postwar periods of time.

Guys, is it possible that postwar tunic has period made buttons?

yea sure depends on what stock they had at the time

or rather i should have said

lots of wartime made products will get recycled after the war,and get used again for many years after
