    brown shirt arm band question

Hi all, a newbie here. I notice most all brown shirts are sold without arm bands sewn on. I understand from reading post that it was done by hand after washing. Pics I've seen also look like they're not sewn on very tight to the arm like you'd see in political tunics. So, how does one sew one on correctly?

Thanks for any help you can give. I'm anxious to start collecting and would love to know the basics first.

The majority of brownshirts on the market sans armband today were likely sourced in Germany following the war. The display of the swastika is considered an illegal act. Hats show up without eagles all of the time. As each individual shirt would have their armband applied by an individual. the style can change from shirt to shirt. However, the norm would to be attached at the top with three to four base stiches. At times, I have found them with corresponding stictches on the bottom edge. I hope this is of help to you.
