Firefighter's Insignia Stickpin

Here is a stickpin which I purchased yesterday, on the chance that it might possibly be pre-WW2 German (no swastika). I can find no references to insignia used by firefighters, although the design which incorporates a fire helmet, hose nozzle, ladder, axe and grappling fork would sure seem to indicate that this is what it symbolizes. There are no markings on the reverse side.

Can anyone please be of assistance in identifying this, or pointing me to where I might learn more about it?

Hello,

The helmet on your pin looks typically American to me. Germans used, and still use very different type helmets. Just my opinion.
