Hi Andy,

I've had a couple of these. They are SA although I couldn't tell you what time period or rationale for the design. I'd hit the SA books by Fuller and Angolia to see if they cover it and I'd bet they do. This one looks ok to me from an originality standpoint.

I've heard the SS reserve theory too but I don't think it is correct in this case. If it were an SS armband it would have the SS RZM tags.

This should be enough to get the folks who really know their stuff to chime in.

Hi Andy,
this is covered briefly in Angolia`s `cloth insignia of the S.A. and is listed as a reserve a/b. I`ll try and check out the info later.

Hi Andy,

If you have Jill Halcomb's book SA a historical perspecive there is a photo of it on page 176. Ashley nailed it in Angolia's book too.

Many thanks to all for your help. I have a chance to purchase this but is the asking price of 200euros in your opinion too much? I have looked around for another the same to compare it with but cannot find another listed anywhere.

Hi Andy,

200 euros sounds pretty high to me but I've not been actively buying in recent years. If I were looking for one I'd not want to pay more than $100 and it better be in really nice shape for that price.
