Hello,
Here is a bullion Feuerwehr officer's eagle with the feather on the back of the head. I can't really say there is anything that shouts "reproduction", but I have a few doubts. I know that these parrot headed eagles did indeed exist during the period, but whenever I encounter one I wonder.
The embroidery is quite nice, perhaps a bit too nice. It is absolutely mint. The phoney ones I am familiar with have the wreath around the swastika open at the top.
Any other opinions? It is totally UV dead, and the back is gunked up where it was glued to something, but seems to have been embroidered on a buckram backing, something I have not seen before in police insignia.
Thanks,
Bill Unland
