Gentlemen and or ladies , On a whim I picked this up for £18 . It was in what we used to call a junk shop back in the day . Bloke didn’t know what it was , but because it had the old crooked cross on it immediately thought it was worth a fortune. Adjusted his thinking but as to what it is , I’m not much the wiser . I have enough experience to know it’s genuine , and is almost certainly iNSKK but what is it .
It looks suspiciously like the centre of a belt buckle but has 2 small holes vertically aligned top and bottom . They are both very neatly drilled but on the inside they rupture outwards from the drill bit exiting . Not filed off . The holes are not recently drilled but have they been done post war to enable it to be displayed , or are they indeed wartime and part of the production process ?
No great value , I’m just curious . Any help greatly appreciated .
