Such a rhombus is sold as a copy for 10 dollars. It seems to me that they are identical.

I have NEVER seen an embroidered insignia laid down on the bias like that. I think it was made as a repro SS insignia, perhaps omitting the SS.
not an authentic insignia in my opinion.
