It is original. This eagle is for a Police Shako.

Agreed, an original insignia plate for the shako mounted by the two threaded studs, one of which has been broken off. Too bad about the damage.

With all the material on the one stud, I wonder if it was broken off of a shako body. Any maker markings on the reverse? Sometimes letters are around the stud base or reverse of breast or Swastika.

Yes! There is a capital “A” on the reverse of the breast. Do you know the maker?
