Could I please have some opinions on this cross- thank you. Also what is missing from the bottom of the box? Is it a button hole ribbon or a ribbon for the bandspange? Thank you!

I agree good one .
what is missing is I believe is a 1 piece section to go on a ribbon bar with the red cross ribbon and a small red cross first class showing the top oak leaf cluster device on it.
here you can see the one for Social welfare 1st class as you can see ready for a ribbon bar.The mini red cross is just for a scale as is the red cross medal ribbon bar.
The size of the social welfare ribbon bar section is 15mm wide a perfect fit for that case I would say .
If you want to sell the case let me know.

Okay thank you, I imagine that will be difficult to find the ribbon section but that is fine. I would not want to separate the award from the case and sell it by itself sorry. Thanks again.Comment

I have only ever seen this piece of ribbon bar ON a ribbon bar never alone .
It is near impossible to find.Although there is always time and one may surface from a collection .
Yes a good idea to keep them together .I only have the type that dosent have the
space for the piece.
a great item for a Red cross , Social Welfare collection .

What is really sad is that I believe the ribbon was taken recently and put with another set in better condition. As you can fee from the fading it was there for a long time and the case was on open display by a collector for a long time and has UV fading. This set was sold as "left overs" which is too often seen but yes, still nice.Comment
