    Box set of Museum grade replicas of Polizei discs

    Hello,

    I am wondering if anyone can remember about 10 years ago there was a group of maybe 8 or 10 German Polizei discs which were museum replicas and sold as one group in a box set ?

    I remember seeing one of these groups for sale which I was not interested in at the time but I have not seen them since. IF I remember correctly they might have been slightly reduced in size. Any information on this would be welcomed.

    Regards,
    Gerard

    Wow. 8 or 10? Didnt know there were that many variations of the third reich issue. Did they include imperial and weimar era? The Polish copies were long before that time.

        These were not exclusively third reich. I am thinking now maybe there were more than 10. These were offered to me for sale over 10 years ago probably closer to 15 yrs ago so its hard to remember the details. If I find more on them I will add here, or if anyone else knows the ones I am referring to please do the same. Thanks!

          I am thinking that counting the different accurate (non RZM marked) made fakes and Polish copies, there werent ten different varieties made over the years. Seems the group would be repetitious.

            This was a manufactured official (I think) box set of museum grade (Supposedly) replica Polizei ID Discs. Not put together by someone.

            I dont know if this was sold at a museum or via a magazine collection or what.

            It was produced as a set though and did not feature duplicates.

            I tried emailing the person who had this to get more info but the email address is no longer valid. If I find more I will put it here.

            Googling variations re this is finding nothing. I think there might have been a Danzig one and maybe a Bahnpolizei one too (in addition to regular Polizei ones).

              Does Reddick's site answer questions? Maybe he handled them or had them made.

                Hi Joe, thanks for the tip, I have had a look at that site and nothing there from this set. This is one of those times when its very annoying not to be able to remember more details but hopefully something will show up over time.
                Cheers,
                Gerard

                  I hope I do not interfere here and maybe I misunderstood the question.

                  There are quite some different discs, but the total will possibly not have been higher then ten or so
                  (including those used as Feldgendarmerie (Heer and Luftwaffe and Waffen-SS)/Reichsluftaufsicht-versions
                  and Reichsbahn-versions and such).
                  I know of two variations of TR police (thin letters from the order and thicker letters from a manufacturers
                  catalogue) and also for Weimar (Staatliche Polizei, about 1926). The police-version was also used by
                  Landwacht. The use by Bahnpolizei is not stated in regulations.

                  Some quite rare ones existed:
                  N.S.K.K. VERKEHRS-ERZIEHUNGSDIENST (with the first NSKK symbol. If ever one existed with the
                  larger form NSKK eagle is not known. It is not stated);
                  NS.KK TRANSPORT-KONTROLLE (with the larger form NSKK eagle, which is stated);
                  Bevollmächtigter für den Nahverkehr im Wehrkreis (with a Roman Wehrkreis number) from a manufacurers catalogue
                  and possibly N.S.D.A.P. Reichspropagandaleitung Reichs-Autozug Deutschland (or Hilfszug Bayern).

                  Years ago (maybe 20 or so) suddenly on the market appeared some pure fantasy ones.
                  From four I found a colored image. I remember they were sold in Germany. I remember
                  also one was included with HALT SS Lagerwache. If I remember well they were for sale
                  at the "Berliner Auktionshaus für Geschichte".
                  Three did not exist in this form (nor was the Lagerwache), the police one is no fantasy,
                  but in a specific form did exist.

                    I made a mistake with the indication. It should be:
                    NSKK VERKEHRS-HILFS-POLIZEI TRANSPORT-KONTROLLE

                    The words VERKEHRS-HILFS-POLIZEI are in the red ring;
                    TRANSPORT-KONTROLLE is situated in the lower white
                    beneath the NSKK eagle.

                      I think I mustn't have explained this. When I said Identity disk I meant in the style of a Gestapo disc, i.e. a metal disc normally worn on a chain. The kind of personal ID Disk used in Germany long before WW1. The ones I am referring to were regional and included Pre ww2. I cant recall exactly what each disc was, if I could I'd probably have found it by now !

                        Sorry, I misunderstood.
                        I hope my other information is interesting. These are no discs but paddles.

                            Try searching for Dienstmarke by Gode.

                            Gode produced lots of different copies of police discs from pre war to post war. They also manufactured copies of US police badges.
