    Luftschutz cross

    Not my area of collecting... Is it an acceptable version of Luftschutz medal?

    Ok, the ribbon is bad for starters.

    The cross looks to be an original S&L zincer, these are pretty crude and far less valuable than the tombak version but accepted as real. Mine came in a walk-in group with a Hindenburg Cross, a DRL badge and a smashed up Fire Service Cross 2nd Class they had all been in a tool box and had sawdust in all the crevices. As with many vet groups the ribbons were all swapped around and played with .... I paid £100 for mine.

      Interesting as S&L's early 57er version of this is a work of art. This looks more crude as you said Ian. Not sure I'd want to pay $700 plus for this example, yet it's the real deal.
