Some confusion regarding schutzpolizei bayonet

Would appreciate any information regarding the Schutzpolizei bayonet I have. During a search I located an exchange from a long time ago from a member that had nearly an identical bayonet as mine. It was marked S for Schutzpolizei and for the region of West Prussian with district makring (same locaiton as mine is). I was mystified why mine (and his) had Schutzpolzei markings but the frog and scabbard are brown. There is some dark tone in the recessed portions of the scabbard. If anyone has an idea I would be interested. Thank you.

I guess the starting question would be if the upper scabbard fitting property markings match the bayonet guard? A case of a mismatch would be one possible explanation. If matching property markings, then the scabbards black finish has worn back to brown which is how the leather started life. This is also supported by the mention of dark in the recesses. Not uncommon to see. The brown frog, is it Po or Gend marked at all? With frogs, they could have always been swapped or incorrectly added along the way in attempt to more closely match the current scabbard leather color.

Thanks for your reply Dave. I wondered if I would hear from you as you seem to be quite involved in Police. It is interesting this other member had a bayonet configured like mine. So, yes, the scabbard markings match the bayonet. And the fit is perfect. Regarding the color on the scabbard; the color seems so uniform except for the recessed areas that it looks like it was intentionally restored back to its original leather color. No markings at all on the frog. I have been moving my German Police collection on and wondered if you are in the market? Gone is my complete enlisted Schutzpolizei mannequin. I still have a complete mannequin of a Gendarmarie officer (Oberleutnant) that will go. Excellent condition. Thanks again for your info.
