Last 2019 group.

Hi guys,
I got this document group of the E-stand. It is to a member of my favourite division. The 126. Infanterie-Division. I'll show all the papers included in the grouping here. Any opinions and or remarks are highly appreciated.

I'll start with a document about him reporting for duty on the 4th of October 1939. The next one is a document stating that he has been in the wehrmacht since the 11th of May 1940. The fieldpostnumber is that of the 2. Kompanie, Panzerjäger-Abteilung 126. And the third one is the award document for the Allgemeines sturmabzeichen. This award was handed to him on the 31st of October 1941 and is signed by Generalleutnant Paul Laux (KC+OL).

The next 4 documents are all linked together, in my opinion. We'll start with the document for the EK2. By then the Panzerjäger abteilung has been renamed Panzerjäger und Aufklarungs-Abteilung 126. Heinrich is part of the 3. Kompanie. He is awarded with the ek2 on the 10th of July 1942. The document again is signed by Generalleutnant Paul Laux.

Then we have a promotion document to Obergefreiter. dated the 17th of July 1942 and signed by Oberleutnant Bomke (DKiG).

Next up is a very interesting document to Heinrich and signed again by Oberleutnant Bomke. The document is sent to him while in hospital recovering from wounds sustained on the 26th of June 1942. It also states the names of 12 members of the Kompanie who died during the attack on their lines. At the end it is mentioned that Heinrich earned the EK2 for his brave actions on that day. (It is my belief that he also earned the promotion because of that attack.)

Last one is the award document for the wound badge in black. This one is handed out on the 1st of August 1942 and he recieved it for wounds inflicted on the 26th of June 1942. The document again is signed by Oberleutnant Bomke.

His last award is the winter war medal. It is dated the 1st of September 1942. It is signed by an unknown Major.

The next document is signed in a POW camp on the 18th of July 1945. And it basically says he had a drivers license 3rd class wich he got on the 22nd of August 1940.

The next one is his release document from the POW camp. It clearly states his name and adress and that he is married. It is signed by a doctor Fabian. On the back it is signed by Major Bilsland. Heinrich was kept in the Münsterlager.

The last one i a marschbefehl to travel to Düsseldorf (his hometown). This document is dated the 1st of August 1945. He arrives there on the 2nd of August 1945 as can be seen on the back of the document.

All in all Heinrich was pretty lucky to survive the war and not be in captivity for a very long time.

Thank you Hank, appreciate it. I also checked the names of the fallen soldier that are named in the letter. 8 of them are buried in the same cemetary close to eachother. 2 are buried somewhere else but died in a fieldhospital and 2 i can't find at all.
