Bought this photo form a auction some time ago (had to pay a ton for it...) and just wanted to hear your opinions.

Well I'm not sure what should I think of that. Photos are not my specialty and this particular one I bought just cause I thought it was funny. So, if this is a well known photo, does it mean these are floating around like crazy or is this somewhat unique piece? I found a similar photo from the all mighty google image search, but it appears to be bigger (un-cropped) than this one I have, which is rather small.
All info would be highly appreciated.

It's probably a photo that was reproduced a fair amount. If it was taken in 1934 as stated on back, there were a number of years for it to be further reproduced.
If you like it, and it didn't cost an arm and a leg, no harm.

A bit over 200e if I remember correctly. Well it was a lot for sure but still it looks nice IMO and displays well with all the other stuff i have. I guess I could have spent that money on drinking as well so i guess this is still better
And just to make myself feel better, I had to compete for this with someone so at least there is another person somewhere that would have paid almost the same price!

the picture was taken by a photograph of the "Süddeutsche Zeitung", which newspaper was a big source for Hitler and NS pictures.

I've often thought of this photo, which I've seen all my life in books, as perhaps explaining why certain Hitler autographs (or anyone else's for that matter) don't look like they are "supposed" to. It's not a far leap of logic to accept that autographs signed in this fashion will be different than those signed on top of a flat desk.

I believe that this particular image (if memory serves me right) was one of a series taken at the entrance to Hitler's driveway at the Berghof, during the time that the public were admitted to the area. Hitler has one foot (his right foot) on the low embankment and he's actually resting the photo he's signing on a small camera he's holding. A cine film also exists of this event.
The cropped reproduction is unfortunately worth only a few euros on the market, but if someone is happy with paying an exaggerated amount for it, then that is fine. After all, anything is always worth to them what someone is prepared to pay for it. Enjoy owning it.

Steve,
No two signatures are identical, even those executed at desks within seconds of each other. Try it yourself. You'd be surprised how similar Hitler's signatures appear when signed in 'adverse' conditions such as these. I think the shorter, and less complicated, the signature is, the more increased the chances of it appearing 'normal'.
