Does anyone have some insight into this soldier's entries?

His name was Waclaw Zaremba, born 8 September 1907 in Kampen [Kąp] as the son of the mine railway worker Gerhard Zaremba (died in 1920) and his wife Veronika, née Kokocinski.

A motor vehicle driver by civilian trade, he was of Catholic faith and married to Waleska Anna Zaremba, née Pollak, with whom he lived in Kattowitz [Katowice].

On 22 August 1940, he had his draft board examination at the Wehrbezirskommando Kattowitz [Recruiting District Headquarters Katowice], was classified "k.v." [= kriegsverwendungsfähig, i.e. fully fit for wartime military service] and taken into the replacement reserves.
Waclaw was called up for active military service with the Stammkompanie [Cadre Company] of Grenadier-Ersatz Batailon 327 [Grenadier Replacement Battalion 327[ on 26 February 1943. On 28 February 1943, he had his standard security-/counter-espionage briefing and his entry medical exam, which again found him fully fit for military service.

He transferred to the 2nd company of Reserve-Grenadier-Bataillon 327 [Reserve Grenadier Battailon 327] on 5 March 1943, then to its 1st company on 28 April 1943 and to its 3rd company on 19 May 1943. Finally, he transferred to the 5th company of Grenadier-Regiment 203 [Grenadier Regiment 203].

He was deployed to defensive/security duty on the Atlantic Coast (10 June 1943 to 31 August 1943) and then in Italy (7 September to 26 October 1943) and finally to the defensive fighting by the Dniepr (2 November to 24 November 1943).

Waclaw Zaremba was killed on 24 November 1943 at Tarnowatka north of Kriwoi Rog.

His superior Lt. Schneidewind expressed his condolences to Waclaw's widow in a letter of 7 December 1943. The official death certificate was issued by the Katowice registrar's office on 4 October 1944.
