Rexist Publication

I have an opportunity to purchase a lot of Degrelle and Rexist items, and this publication is in there. I've never seen it before and and can't find any others online. Is it period?

Hi,

"Rex" was one of the many publications launched by Léon Degrelle between 1931 and 1933, when he was managing the catholic editions "Christus-Rex".

"Rex" was the litterary supplement of the apolitical magazine "Soirées".

This issue is probably the most famous ones : it is a special edition made one year after the accidental death of Albert 1er, King of Belgium who was loved by the country.

Albert 1er was a fanatic of climbing, and on February 17, 1934, he made an accidental fall at Marche-les-Dames, and killed himself.

This commemorative magazine was published in 1935, and it is easy to find it. I paid my copy 10 euros which is ùaybe a bit too expensive.

Thanks Vince. I suspect this stuff is seriously overpriced. There's also an allegedly unpublished photo of Degrelle in the field with Herbert Otto Gille during the Cherkassy fighting, but it's suspiciously glossy and has a handwritten Spanish inscription on the back. Those, plus a Dutch Signaal with the Degrelle cover.

Signal issues from middle 1940 to middle 1944 are worth at best 15 euros if it is including a special content or front cover (like Degrelle). Signal issues from this period are more likely to be found for a few euros.

If a picture of Degrelle and Gille in Tcherkassy existed, it will have been known for decades...
If you can post an heavily watermarked picture of it on the WAF, we should be able to identify it.

Is Degrelle wearing a Schiffschen in the picture ?
There is a bad picture taken in Wildflecken on November 1944 when the "Charlemagne" brigade soldiers took their oath. It is showing Degrelle with a Schiffschen.

Hi,

picture confirmed to have been taken in Tcherkassy, and published in 1988 in the highly recommended book "Léon Degrelle et la Légion Wallonie" (an alternative edition exist with only "Légion Wallonie") by Eric Lefèvre and Jean Mabire, page 167 as shown below.

The picture was most probably taken by an SS-PK member and is not "unreleased".
