so could anyone let me know the unit/regiment this fella served with when he was awarded the booklets
I have tried but im not getting far on the net as i cant find Abt36.

It was part of the 36 Inf. Div. Pz Abw Abt. were the forerunner of the Infantrie's Panzerjäger Abt. His Abt. was formed in Kaiserlautern in 10.37. Before the war, men had time to try for these water life saving certificates. You still see some earn them later in the war.
