Many, many thanks to both of you for sharing these fantastic photos and pieces of artwork from your collections .
You made me very happy !

I can't comment on all of them, so just a few remarks :
- the photos dated 15.7.41 give an excellent view on that commandpost on that day and the men marching in the Steppe

- all the different examples of artwork are really beautiful !

- They also contain a lot of humour. Some personal comments :

-- First "traffic sign" is obvious : Mun.St. = Munitions-(Ausgabe)-Stelle (ammunition depot) : better be careful !
-- Second one : It says "Drahtverhau". Literally, this translates to barbed wire fortified position (or : wire entanglement ?!)
But with reference to the painting on that sign, I think this is a kind of Landser slang for a telephone signal post
(Draht = wired communication), somehow implying : Safely shielded (but from heavy duty/ heavy workload) !
-- Third one is obviously the sign for an Entlausungsstation (delousing post) !

#46 :
It could be : Serm Blender (?) (or similar, hard to read). Instead of Serm, it could be any other typical shortcut for a Bavarian first name
(like Wastl instead of Sebastian etc.).

#48 : Fantastic images from the Hubertushaus and very impressive, how much effort has been made to decorate this and
make it somehow "cozy".I never saw something similar in any of my books.

The writing on the wall : Bayern, Kreizdeifi, des war scho' was andreas ! (it is written in Bavarian dialect)
Kreizdeifi (Bavarian curse) = Kreuzteufel (perhaps ?!) : translates somehow to : "to the hell"
(meaning could be : Verflixt, zuhause in Bayern ists doch schöner als hier : damn it, at home in Bavaria, it was much nicer ... )

Very nice to see the workplace of Gen. Lanz !
I am quite sure the paintings have also some "special" meaning, but it would perhaps need an insider to understand them.
I think the "Schwab bleibt Schwab" could point to some "internal rivalry" between men from Schwaben and Bayern ...

#51, 52 :
Very nice pictures from a fox hunt organized when Maj. von Eimannsberger left the division.

Ok, here is my officer portrait.
As you can see the drawing size is quite large (comparing to his gasmask can).

Also notice that the ww2 era reprint of the painting "Before the battle" (which belonged to veteran) is larger size than ordinary postcard.

Did not find Dr. Grimm but I had checked the albums and found "Alle vets" of 1GD pictured during 1941/42 winter
