Album "Souvenir of the eagle´s nest"

Got this Album today. First thought that this is a personal Album, but it seems that this was available for purchase after the war (this Album is dated 1948).
A real Souvenir that was brought back by allied soldiers.

Had a look on the net and could not find this Album. But I found another type, so it seems that there were different Souvenir Albums?

    any Information is appreciated…..

Nice album. There are a few different kinds of these, all post-war, with the same photos. Made for GIs, tourists, etc.

            Hi,

many pictures are "bootleg" copies of Hoffmann pre-war postcards.

Many post-war postcard folders were/are still proposed for the tourists, using pre and post-war pictures/postcards.

                  Hi,

actually the albums are homemade albums made by locals, soldiers, POWs, etc.
You take war or post-war postcards, and you stick them on a blank album.

Amongst those "homemade" albums, you may have personal and exclusive pictures taken by locals or soldiers.

Hoffmann original postcards were printed to hundred of thousand of copies, and many of them have dozen of variations.

What is interesting is to study the post-war postcard folders, that are mixing pre-war "bootleg" postcards and post-war postcards.
Below is one interesting folder from my collection.
Many Hoffmann and pre-war pictures "bootlegged", and also some famous post-war postcards.

One essential website about the Berchtesgaden/Obersalzberg :

                  http://www.thirdreichruins.com/

by Geoff Walden, who is also a member of the WAF.
You will learn a lot and see hundred of period and post war pictures of the area, it may help you to see which pictures you have may be copies or originals.
