I never paid attention to dietrich's post-war signatures. don't know if he changed the signing style. but, this one for sale does not fit war time pattern for sure. he used to sign with just his surname. but, when name in full was placed does not fit either. IMO.

Sorry, but that is not correct. The vast majority of pre-'45 Dietrich signatures included his nickname "Sepp".
As for this one, it is of the correct style, but it's almost impossible to assess authenticity without closer inspection. I have seen genuine examples on photos of former comrades obtained at post-war HIAG meetings, so this one stands a chance, but I wouldn't like to say one way or the other. He died on 21 April 1966.

well, my experience is based on award documents and, usually, he just signed "Dietrich". we may find two types of signatures using his surname only. first type used pre-42 and the other one post-42 and, on the photo requested here, is far away from these signatures.

I say it again, don't know if post-war he changed his signature again. never spent time on this. anyway, don't feel comfortable with the signature discussed here.

Obviously I think the signature is good and is consistent. There are a few examples of post-war Dietrichs I have come across.

so, seems he used to place different signature patterns ....

in this pic, from 1963, surname's "D" is very similar to the post-42 signature.

in this one, without date, surname's "D" is close to the discussed one made in 1960.
if all signatures are originals he mixed styles from date to date ....
