          Another sad document!

EK2 awarded shortly before he died.

              Hello !

Nice document of a very interesting Division !

The 342. Inf.-Div. had a very hard time in August 1943.
I have posted a very similar document, issued just 6 days earlier,
with some photos and a few additional infos, maybe it's interesting for you :

Fantastic Archi, thanks so much for that.

So you own the Ekii citation and photo album to the guy! So sad when a photo album stops like that,do you know for sure if he was KIA! I received info on Walter Woll from member "Yubari" in the thread so I know he was KIA less than a month after he received the Ekii.

Interesting to match up the signatures of Albrecht Baier also.

Kind regards to you and your family

                  Hello Ross !

I was really surprised when I saw this EK 2 document, because it was so similar ! (also very close in date !).
That's why I posted only the direct link to the topic, which included the award doc, which was perhaps misleading.
It is only that the photos stop in ~mid 1943, "my soldier" was lucky and survived.

The whole thread is a bit longer, perhaps you find some more infos :

Kind regards to you and your family too,

                  Archi

                    Hi Archi !

Whilst sitting on my break at work I had a quick look at the link to your grouping!

I will be home at 8pm and will read it in full,it looks very very interesting, its these kind of groupings to the common soldier that excite me,cant wait to check it out

                    All the best my friend!
